Campus Tours
A visit to the UT Austin campus is perhaps the best way to learn
about the University's academic programs, student services, and
community life.
Freshman Applicants
Student guides conduct walking tours of the campus for prospective
freshman students and their families and guests as part of an organized
Campus Visit program. The visits include a Student Information Session
and a Student-led Q&A before the tours, all of which are held
in the Freshman Admissions Center located in Hargis Hall
on the southeast corner of Red River and MLK. Visit the Campus
Visits page on Be a Longhorn for details about times and dates.
For prospective student tours for groups of 10 or more, please
contact the Office of Admissions at least two weeks in advance at
512-471-1988.
Transfer Applicants and Other Visitors
Student guides conduct walking tours of the campus for prospective
transfer students, their families and guests as well as other visitors
to the campus. Tours are offered at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday –
Friday and on Saturdays at 2 p.m. During the months of May and December,
only one tour is offered at 2 p.m. each day Monday – Saturday.
The tours for transfer applicants and other visitors depart from
the Information Desk located on the ground floor of the Main
Building, also known as the “UT Tower.” Comfortable
attire is recommended for the tours, which usually last one to one-and-one-half
hours.
University Holidays
There are no tours on official University holidays (including skeleton
crew days).
