Advising
SAO recommends that you schedule an appointment with your Departmental
Advisor to discuss your degree plan and an appointment with your Financial
Aid counselor.
Please make sure you have attended a General
Information Session before requesting to see and advisor.
After you have researched the abroad programs you should make an appointment with your country specific study abroad advisor. You may
schedule an appointment by calling the Study Abroad front desk at:
512-471-6490
During your first session with a Study Abroad Advisor the following topics
will be discussed with you:
Business Students:
Business Students have several options for study abroad. Students can visit the Undergraduate Programs Office in CBA 2.400 for information on semester exchanges or the CIBER Office in GSB 3.126 for information on summer programs.
The BBA Exchanges are arranged specifically for undergraduate business students and the application process takes place through the Undergraduate Programs Office. CIBER sponsors several summer programs available to business and non-business students. The application for summer programs is available online through the CIBER website.
Business Students may also apply for other programs through the UT Study Abroad Office. SAO offers many programs with business courses. Applications for these programs are available through SAO. Information is also available under the procedures section.
Natural Sciences Students:
There are special programs arranged for natural science students called TASSEP programs. TASSEP programs are exchange programs set up specifically for natural science students. Students will need to follow the same steps in the procedure section as other students and should also contact James Boggs for more information about the TASSEP program (e-mail him at james.boggs@mail.utexas.edu).
In addition, there are numerous other programs available for natural science students through SAO.
Visit the International Science Opportunities website for more details.
Engineering Students:
The College of Engineering has recently developed six Focused Exchanges in addition to two special summer programs. Students should visit the IEP website for details.Students interested in the Certificate Program in International Engineering Studies should consult the Global Engineering Education Program website.
