About Us

Welcome to study abroad at the University of Texas at Austin. The Study Abroad Office is one of the largest study abroad programs in the U.S., offering a rich array of educational experiences in nearly eighty countries. Visiting this website is the first step in a journey that will transform you academically and personally, one that will enhance your professional opportunities and help you to clarify your academic ambitions and objectives. You may even have fun!

Last year alone, over 2,000 UT students traveled the globe to learn in a variety of programs and settings. Some were exchange students at the world’s most renowned universities. Some joined our own outstanding slate of UT faculty led programs. Others participated in programs affiliated with UT organized and run by leading study abroad specialists. Whether they fulfilled a language requirement in Argentina, conducted field research in Kenya, interned at a London bank, or critiqued literature at the Sorbonne, virtually all UT Austin students agree that their experience abroad was a highlight of their academic career.

At the Study Abroad Office, our goal is to make international learning experiences available to every UT-Austin student. We have programs suited to every stage of a student's academic career, from freshman to graduate study. We have information on internships, research opportunities, and language programs. And we also have information on a variety of scholarships that are specifically dedicated to overseas study.

The world is increasingly “globalized” and the opportunities and need for people with significant cross-cultural skills and experience have never been greater. How are you preparing?
