BSFA Presents Faculty & Staff of the Year Awards

On Tuesday, June 17th Dr. Kevin Cokley and Latonya M. Robinson were each named by their peers as Faculty and Staff of the Year for the 2007-2008 academic year. Audra Sneed, outgoing BFSA president, presented the awards and had this to say, "Recognizing faculty and staff contributions to the university is key to the success of BFSA. The continued celebration of staff and faculty excellence provides inspiration to our entire community."

Dr. Kevin CokleyFaculty Member of the Year, Dr. Kevin Cokley, is an Associate Professor of Counseling Psychology in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin, with a faculty affiliate status in the Center of African and African American Studies.
Dr. Kevin Cokley received a B.A. in psychology in 1991 from Wake Forest University, an M.Ed. in counselor education in 1993 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology in 1998 from Georgia State University. His research can be broadly categorized in the area of African American psychology, with a focus on racial and ethnic identity development and correlates of academic achievement such as academic self-concept.



Latonya M. RobinsonStaff Member of the Year, Latonya M. Robinson is a member of the Residence Life team in the Division of Housing and Food Service. She has served in her current position of Area Coordinator for the Waller Creek Residence for three years and has worked at the University of Texas for five years. LT has been an active member of BFSA for three years and looks forward to working more with the organization in the future.
