Pharmacotherapy Rounds is a weekly program that is directed by the Pharmacotherapy Division of The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy and the Pharmacotherapy Education and Research Center (PERC) of The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio School of Medicine in partnership with the South Central Area Health Education Center (AHEC). We gratefully acknowledge the support and collaboration of the South Central AHEC in providing this education resource to pharmacists and other health care providers in South-Central Texas.
Pharmacotherapy Rounds is presented every Friday at The University of Texas Health Science at San Antonio, McDermott Building, Room 2.108 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. These presentations are also broadcast to The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy and Scott & White in Temple.
Mission: To provide pharmacists and other health care providers in South-Central Texas with evidence-based and patient-centered instruction they can use to prevent disease and improve the care they deliver to their individual patients, families and communities.
Target Audience: We welcome faculty from the University of Texas College of Pharmacy and the Pharmacotherapy Education and Research Center, pharmacy residents, physicians and health care providers from San Antonio and South-Central Texas, and pharmacy students.
Expected Outcomes: Attendees of Pharmacotherapy Rounds will be provided with an up-to-date review and critical evaluation of the medical literature covering a variety of health-related topics. We expect this information to increase the participants' knowledge base of evidence-based medicine with the ultimate goal of improving the care that we provide to our patients.
