The graduate coordinator, graduate adviser, and minority liaison officer within each department can be of assistance to you as you seek more information about graduate studies and admissions requirements of the various programs.
Graduate coordinators are staff members who play a crucial role in the facilitation of the various graduate programs. They usually handle such things as new student inquiries and tasks related to the admissions process. They may be the most important first contact you can make within the department.
Graduate advisers are faculty members who have been appointed by their department or program to advise current students about issues related to their degree programs. Also, they are often the representatives of the program to prospective students. They can be very helpful when it is necessary to obtain more information than is available in the departmental literature.
Minority liaison officers are faculty members who have been appointed by their department or program to act as resources for enrolled and prospective minority graduate students. In addition, they act as advisers and advocates for enrolled minority students.
