GRS 390N
Preparing Future Faculty Internships
Not currently offered

During each semester, students will work one-on-one with faculty members at one of the PFF partner schools (Texas State University, St. Edward's University, Southwestern University, Austin Community College, Huston-Tillotson University). The internship is designed to prepare UT graduate students for academic careers at diverse types of educational institutions by exposing them to day-to-day activities of faculty members at these schools. GRS 390N is offered on a credit/no credit basis for those students wishing to receive academic credit for their internship experience.

Examples of internship activities include: observation of teaching, lecturing classes (with student and mentor feedback), grading, constructing course syllabi, attending departmental meetings and events, directing lab sessions, discussions with faculty and students, assisting with student advising and mentoring, working with students on research projects.

Students should explore and identify schools and faculty members who are possible matches for their area of expertise, then submit the following form to begin the process of arranging the internship.

You can use this form to register electronically or you can contact Thomas Darwin with the above information.
