PDCE Objectives
The objectives of the Professional Development and Community Engagement Program are to
Promote innovative teaching and scholarship by graduate students while they are at the University and in their professional careers.
Provide graduate students with opportunities to master their ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and the public.
Provide innovative professional development skills and strategies designed to enable graduate students to make an impact as scholars in their disciplines and as engaged members of their communities.
Collaborate with the University community and in the community at large to provide meaningful learning experiences for graduate students.
Serve as a site for members of the University, local, and global communities to collaborate on issues of common concern.
Contribute to the development of methods and skills necessary for collaborations with University, local, and global communities to be effective and sustainable.
