The Graduate School is pleased to announce the Outstanding Graduate Adviser Award for 2009 to recognize the exemplary service of one of our Graduate Advisers. I would greatly appreciate your assistance in identifying and nominating candidates for this award in your graduate programs. Graduate Advisers provide an invaluable service to the university and its community of students, faculty, and staff, and this award is one of the few opportunities available to recognize these individuals.
Enclosed please find a nomination form and a list of suggested criteria for identifying nominees for this important recognition. Please make note of the following:
Nomination packets consisting of six sets of the required materials (see nomination form) must be received in this office no later than Friday, December 12, 2008, to be considered. If you need additional information or wish to reactivate a nomination from last year, please contact Tom Belinoski, Assistant Dean.
We look forward to receiving your nominations and to recognizing the outstanding contributions of one of our Graduate Advisers. The award includes a $4000 prize, which will be presented at the Graduate School/University Co-op Awards Banquet in May, 2009. The University Co-op very generously underwrites the prizes for this award and all of the Graduate School awards each year.
For your information, lists of past award recipients and copies of nomination forms for all of the Graduate School awards are available at http://www.utexas.edu/ogs/awards/.
