Overview

The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing Learning Center aims to provide leadership and support for the achievement of the School's mission: education, research and service. The Learning Center strives to create an environment that encourages the development of each student as a learner and as one entering the nursing profession. The faculty and staff believe that the Learning Center is an essential tool that enables them to provide individualization in meeting student learning needs as well as a way to maximize the effectiveness of instruction through innovative teaching methods.

Service and support are provided to approximately 70 faculty members, 40 staff members, 550 undergraduate students, and 250 graduate students and countless members of the Central Texas Health community. The Learning Center has a staff of eight professionals who provide services ranging from designing nursing research classes and web pages, designing logos for nurse managed clinics, producing multimedia presentations for scientific sessions, to operating a peer tutoring service.
