Instructions: All Students:
LBJ School Ph.D. students and 2nd-year LBJ students are the preferred applicants for these positions. All appointments are 10 hours except where noted.

When completing the application, check only the requirements that you meet.

If you were admitted to UT with a condition(s), the waiving of that condition(s) must be done by petition from the Graduate Adviser to the Dean of Graduate Studies.

Incomplete grades must be cleared before your appointment can begin. The UT electronic appointment system will not allow an appointment if you have more than one temporary incomplete (X) and one permanent incomplete grade (I), or two temporary incomplete's (X). A first semester PRP incomplete will be discounted by the Adviser and instructors when appointment decisions are being made.

You should pre-register for at least 9 hours for consideration as a TA. You must be registered for at least 9 hours during the semester you work as a TA.

All graduate student employees will be expected to take two on-line compliance training modules within 30 days of your appointment. Contact Gary Moberg (471-0812) for further information and assistance.

Supporting documentation required:
(a) Resume
(b) A one-page summary of all relevant coursework and grades, computer software experience, and relevant personal experience or job experience.

International Students:
English certification proficiency is an addition requirement for international students. You must pass an Oral English Proficiency Assessment plus attend a 1/2 day workshop to qualify. The International Teaching Assistant Program (ITA) can waive one or both requirements if an exemption is requested and approved. Speak with Kristen Hotopp for further information on exemptions.

The Department must complete an electronic pre-registration before you can register with the International Teaching Assistant Program (ITA).

It is your responsibility to:

(a) Indicate (by phone, e-mail, or on the application) to the graduate coordinator your desire to take the assessment or be considered for an exemption.
(b) After your electronic pre-registration is completed, call the ITA and arrange to take the assessment.
(c) Arrange to attend the one of the workshops after you pass the assessment.
