The Visiting Scholars Program brings a small number of highly qualified international scholars to the Law School every year. While in residence, Visiting Scholars pursue their research in Tarlton Law Library—Jamail Center for Legal Research and participate in the intellectual life of the Law School community. The Visiting Scholars Program aims for geographical diversity. It is desirable that participants be full-time professors of law from outside the U.S. Ph.D. students in law are also eligible. Full-time judges and other legal professionals may also be accepted.
Note: During 2010 and continuing into 2011, Tarlton Law Library/Jamail Center for Legal Research is undergoing major renovations. The space normally allocated to the Visiting Scholars Program has been lost and there is a lot of disruption, which makes research difficult. Therefore, the decision has been made to suspend the Visiting Scholars Program until renovations are complete. No new applications are being accepted at this time. We regret the inconvenience this news may cause prospective Visiting Scholars. As soon as it is possible to reinstitute the Visiting Scholars Program, a notice will be posted on this page.
