Satellite Programming
Overview
ITS provides satellite uplink and downlink services for educational and cultural programming, news, and videoconferences. Broadcast television programming can be received and sent to any campus building. Programming can also originate from any building on campus and be transmitted to a satellite for distribution across the continent.
Features
- Access any analog, "in the clear" programming, and have it sent to your building for viewing
- Videoconferencing rooms and facilities are also available for viewing
- Create satellite programs for instructional purposes and distribute them using our uplink capabilities
Cost
Satellite downlinks are available at no cost to UT students, faculty, and staff. Uplinks have a $100 per uplink charge, plus a $50 per hour facility charge. Satellite transponder charges ($550-$1000 per hour) are paid by the requester directly to the transponder owner.
