Installing SAS 9.1.3 for Windows

This procedure describes how to install SAS 9.1.3 for Windows. Please, make sure that you have the Installation CD-ROM. If the installation program was provided to you separately by Software Distribution and Sales, then save it to a known location on your computer and run the program. Make sure to exit all programs prior to beginning this procedure.

  1. To begin installation, place the SAS installation CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive. When the Choose Setup Language window appears, choose the language that you want to use during installation, and then click OK.
  2. When the main installation window appears, select End User Steps option 2, Verify System Requirements.
  3. Click Next on the Welcome to the System Requirements Wizard widow.
  4. Click Finish in the System Update Not Required window.
  5. When the main installation window reappears, select End User Steps option 3, Install SAS Software.
  6. Click Next on the Welcome to the SAS Setup Wizard window..
  7. Select File, then click Next on the Retrieve SAS Installation Data window.
  8. At the SAS Installation Data window, use the Browse button to enter the location of the installation CD-ROM.

    Note: If the installation data was provided to you separately by Software Distribution and Sales, enter the location where you saved the installation file.

  9. The SAS Installation Data Retrieved window listing the software and interfaces you are about to install will appear. Click Next
  10. Select English on the Language Selections window, and then click Next.
  11. Click the Next button on the Choose Destination Folder window to install SAS in the default location.

    Note:You can specify a different location using the Browse button.

  12. Click Next to accept the default data files folder (recommended).
  13. Click Next to accept the default location for temporary files (recommended).
  14. Click Next to install all the SAS components (recommended).
  15. Click Next on the Start Copying Files window to begin installing SAS files.

    Note: If the .sas extension is being used by another program, the installation program open a Confirm Update window requesting that you allow SAS setup to designate this extension for SAS files. Click Yes to allow SAS setup to make this update (recommended).

    If a second Confirm Update window appears, check Use this response for all file types and click Yes (recommended).

  16. Click Finish to complete SAS setup.
