Overview
MATLAB integrates mathematical computing, visualization, and a powerful language to provide a flexible environment for technical computing. ITS has purchased a fixed number of MATLAB licenses for lease to University departments on a first-come first-served basis. All purchases are subject to availability and must be approved by SDS.

Cost and Eligibility
MATLAB licenses are available for purchase by departments at The University of Texas at Austin and are only for use on University-owned equipment. MATLAB is not available for purchase by individuals for personal use.

Under our agreement with The MathWorks, Inc., the University's Applied Research Lab (ARL) is considered ineligible for academic pricing. Those not covered under our academic licensing agreement can purchase MATLAB directly from the vendor.
Note: Students cannot purchase MATLAB through SDS but may purchase it through the Campus Computer Store, or directly from the vendor.

NOTE: Beginning with Release 14 - MATLAB no longer supports IBM/AIX, Alpha/TRU64, and SGI/IRIX platforms and the operating systems Windows 98 and Windows ME.
