Public network bandwidth allocations have been updated for all staff. As of March 11, 2008, all University of Texas at Austin staff will have a minimum allocation of 1 Gigabyte/week to use on the public network.
This update benefits part-time staff, especially student employees. Previously, accessing the public network for staff-related duties meant student employees had to draw from their 500 Megabytes/week of student allocated bandwidth. Student employees are now able to reserve this bandwidth for academic and personal use.
