Enhancements Simplify Dell B2B Purchasing Procedures

The Dell B2B purchasing process now includes enhancements that lets all approved departmental purchases ship directly to the department. The agreement between Dell and HiEd continues to allow HUB credit for the university for purchases of Dell products by authorized university buyers. Departmental buyers no longer have to gather additional bids for products found on the Dell site. HiEd, a state-certified HUB, or historically underutilized business, manages the Campus Computer Store and its Web site.

Benefits

  • All Dell orders placed via the  eCommerce POINT Plus Web site receive HUB credit.
  • No need to acquire additional purchasing bids.
  • No need to fax a paper copy of your Purchase Orders to Dell. The site sends your Purchase Orders electronically.

Get Started

Authorized campus buyers can follow these short steps to shop for Dell products.

  • Use the secure eCommerce POINT Plus Web site in UT Direct.
  • From this site, shoppers click on “eCommerce” in the left-hand navigation menu to locate the Dell catalog.
  • Procedures for authorized buyers may also be found on the eCommerce site as a PowerPoint presentation.

Tips

  • Shoppers may create an e-quote on the Dell.com Premier Login page. Authorized buyers can then go to the eCommerce POINT Plus site to retrieve the e-quote.
  • Use the “Notes and Comments” field in your shopping cart to incorporate specific order information. This information will be added to your e-quote.
  • For large orders (over $25,000) contact Will Stepanov at Dell, 1-800-274-7799, ext. 72-63721, to determine if volume pricing is available. Request that your quote be available for retrieval in eCommerce.
  • If a UT standard configuration is ordered, the commodity codes will auto-fill when the PO is created. You must add the commodity codes if a non-UT standard configuration is ordered.
  • When using the eCommerce site, close any other Dell Premier windows you may have opened to check a product or price.
  • In-store demonstrations at the Campus Computer Store will soon be scheduled for Dell products. Look to the ITS Web site for information on these upcoming dates.
