Overview
Information Technology Services (ITS) is committed to delivering secure, responsive, high-quality, customer-oriented services and support that foster a productive academic and research environment for the students, faculty and staff at the University of Texas at Austin.
-ITS Mission Statement
In order to fulfill our mission, ITS employees must be motivated and energized. In an effort to foster such an atmosphere, the ITS CAST Award has been created. This award recognizes an ITS individual or group contribution to our organization and to the university at large. Each of us fulfills a particular role in the production of providing infrastructure and support to the university and its community. Each of us fulfills this role with integrity. Recognizing individual members for their innovative roles within ITS is a positive reinforcement of the qualities each member of our "production company" should display.
This award is open to members of ITS who have completed their initial 6-month probationary period with the following exceptions:
- The members of the selection committee, while serving, are not eligible.
- Any employee with pending/active disciplinary action is not eligible.
- Any employee with a title of "Director" or higher is not eligible.
By identifying and recognizing "star-quality" performances, the entire ITS community reaps the following benefits:
- providing role models for other cast members;
- improving and energizing morale, which improves job satisfaction;
- reinforcing positive ideas and behavior; and
- celebrating excellence.
The CAST Award is a wonderful way to inspire and motivate ITS employees, whether an employee has a "behind the scenes" role or one that is more "on stage."
Nominations are always accepted!
Nomination Process
Anyone who has had contact with an ITS employee (full- or part-time) or an ITS group may nominate that employee or group for this award. Only ITS employees are eligible to win. The actual nomination is available in two mediums: a web form or a paper form distributed at the Help Desk, Student Microcomputer Facility and the Service Building.
Nominators should provide evidence to describe at least one criterion. Since all employees perform different roles and possess different strengths, nominators should address the criteria that best showcase the nominee's excellent performance. All criteria are afforded equal weight in the evaluation process.
Nominations should be submitted to the Selection Committee for award determination. If you are using a paper form, please seal your nomination in an envelope and send it to ITS CAST Award, UT Austin, FAC 248 (G9800), P.O.Box 7407, Austin, Texas, 78713 or put it in Campus Mail to ITS CAST Award - G9800. Nominations will be considered twice a year.
