Provost's Statement on International Study at UT Austin International Study at UT Austin reports to Sheldon Ekland-Olson, Executive Vice President and Provost. The major responsibility for designing international courses and programs at UT, and weaving international studies into the fabric of the undergraduate curriculum, resides with the colleges, schools, and various centers and research units across campus, working collaboratively with each other, with relevant faculty committees, and with the provost's office. The provost's office through the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies, the Vice Provost and Dean of Graduate Studies, and the International Office coordinates the central support for these efforts along the following lines: Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies, Lucia Gilbert, works closely with the colleges, schools, and with Jerry Wilcox and John Sunnygard in the International Office and the Center for Global Educational Opportunities (Study Abroad Office), to develop and support the expansion of academic undergraduate programs and their integration into the undergraduate curriculum. Victoria Rodriguez, Vice Provost and Dean of Graduate Studies, works with the International Office to ensure that visiting scholars and dignitaries as well as more permanently appointed faculty and graduate students are welcomed, supported, and well informed when they arrive on campus. She will also be working with the Provost and the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs, Neal Armstrong, to structure a robust recruitment program for international faculty. The International Office has primary responsibility for the non-academic logistics of study-abroad programs and the arrival and stay of students, faculty, and visiting scholars to campus.
