To use desktop pictures on your Mac with OS 9:
- Select the image size that best suits your computer's monitor resolution
(i.e. 800x600, 1024x768 or 1280x1024). If you don't know the current resolution
of your monitor, check the Appearance Control Panel.
- Control-click on the link to the picture you'd like
to download, and select "Save Image to Disk" from the pop-up menu.
- Find and open the Appearance Control Panel in your System Folder. Click
on the "Desktop" tab to display the current list of installed patterns.
- Click the small preview of your desktop to make the "Picture"
button active. Click the "Place Picture" button to select your desktop
picture. Locate the desired image, and select it.
- Click the "Set Desktop" button to apply the new picture to your
desktop.
