Spanish Poet Ana Rossetti Discusses Her Work

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese presents a poetry reading by acclaimed poet Ana Rossetti on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
On Thursday, Dec. 4, Rossetti and Jill Robbins, associate professor of Spanish and Portuguese, will discuss the current roles of poetry and poets.
Ana Rossetti is one of the leading authors of conemporary Spain. She is a performer, novelist and poet who some critics consider "the Madonna of Spanish letters." Born and raised in Cadiz, Spain, she moved to Madrid in 1969 to study at the University of Madrid, where she became involved in independent theatrical groups. In 1980, Rossetti published her first book of poems, launching her career. She has dabbled in most genres, including fiction, essay, drama, children's literature and opera. She has also collaborated with visual artists, musicians and fashion designers.
