Mileage Rate Changes Effective Sept. 1, 2007

On Aug. 8, 2007, the Texas state comptroller's office announced an increase in the state mileage reimbursement rate, effective Sept. 1, 2007, to 48.5 cents per mile, up from the previous reimbursement rate of 44.5 cents per mile.

You may view this announcement on the state of Texas' Web site, https://fmx.cpa.state.tx.us/fm/travel/milerate/index.php.

The University of Texas at Austin will match the state and increase mileage reimbursement rates to 48.5 cents per mile, up from 44.5 cents per mile, for all business travel in personally owned automobiles occurring on or after Sept. 1, 2007.

After Sept. 1, separate your VP5 travel payment vouchers by the fiscal years of the travel dates. Rates will automatically be calculated based on travel dates.

The new rates for travel will be reflected in all VP5 travel payment vouchers created on or after Sept. 1, 2007 for travel occurring on or after that date. Mileage reimbursements for travel dates prior to Sept. 1 will be made at the rates in effect prior to that date.
