Frequently Asked Questions
I am confused. Who is required to complete Compliance Training? U.T. System has stated that all continuing employees of the University be required to complete compliance training. This includes faculty, staff and student employees.
I am a new employee. What do I need to do to complete my Compliance Training requirements? New employees to the University, including new faculty, need to complete two items:
  • Read the Employee Compliance Guide and submit the signed acknowledgement form to your supervisor for filing in your departmental personnel file.
  • Complete all required training modules included on your profile in the Compliance Training System (CTS).
  • You might also want to note that State law requires employees to complete sexual harassment training (CW 121) and equal employment opportunity training (CW123) within thirty (30) days of employment and every two years thereafter.
I have already completed my Compliance Training. Why am I being asked to repeat training? Although U.T. Austin only requires General Compliance Training be completed once, the State of Texas requires that training on sexual harassment and equal employment opportunity be repeated every two years. CW 121 - Sexual Harassment and CW 123 - Equal Employment Opportunity satisfies this State requirement. Other modules, like the Introduction, FERPA and SSN will also need to be repeated every two years.
