TESTING PERIODS AND TEST DESCRIPTIONS

General Policy Information for the Academic Year 2008-2009

This chart reflects the 2008-2009 academic year testing period. For each of the seven regular, on-campus testing periods the chart shows which tests for placement and credit by examination are offered. Computer Based Testing (CBT) is available throughout the year for CLEP examinations, Computer Proficiency Test (CPT), the Grammar, Spelling and Punctuation Test (GSP), and the Word Processing Test (WP). Except for CB Advanced Placement Examinations (which are not offered on campus), all tests regularly used by UT Austin are included.

These administrations are limited to prospective, current, and formerly enrolled UT Austin students. Prospective students are free to come to campus to take tests well in advance of the semester in which they plan to enter UT Austin--for example, at a time soon after their high school graduation. Such students should be aware, however, that credit will be awarded only after they begin attending classes at UT Austin. Prospective students who take tests early should keep in mind that many tests may be taken on campus only once.

Directions: For further information on scheduled tests, move the cursor over the Test Name and click on the highlighted test. This will take you to the Test Description for that particular test. NOTE: Tests listed for a specific testing period may be rescheduled or cancelled.
