Innovative Instructional Technology Awards Program (IITAP)Sponsored by the Office of the Provost and DIIAThis annual awards program showcases the university's exemplars in instructional innovation. The IITAP program recognizes faculty achievements in developing and using technology that makes teaching and learning more effective, relevant, and efficient. IITAP celebrates, rewards and showcases outstanding faculty efforts to incorporate new teaching tools and learning resources in their teaching. All University of Texas at Austin faculty and faculty-student/staff teams are invited to enter innovative instructional materials that they have developed specifically for UT Austin courses. To be eligible, innovative instructional materials should be used for at least one semester, with documented outcomes, and should demonstrate how the instructor’s approach improves teaching and promotes students’ knowledge and skills. Call for entries this year will be October 21, 2008 with an entry deadline of January 26, 2009. A faculty review panel will evaluate all entries to determine finalists. Finalists will be judged by a panel including previous IITAP award recipients, members of the Academy of Distinguished Teachers, experts in instructional design, and members of the New Media Consortium. IITAP participants this year will be recognized and honored at the 2009 Innovative Instructional Technology Awards on April 28, 2009, 2:00 – 4:00pm in the Texas Union Ballroom.
